In this post, I'm going to share three kitchen skills every person who ever cooks for themselves should have in their pocket. Check this out.
As a busy mom, I found myself struggling with feeding my family food that I was proud of. It was a constant stress. That’s when I started planning and prepping meals. Planning the meals we ate at home and the meals we would eat out made an enormous difference in the quality of food we ate and the quality time we got to spend together.
I took this passion and started helping other families cut stress and feel good about the food in their own homes. Flavor Bombs are my sauce-y way to say that I care and give you tools to make food easier and more delicious without sacrificing quality.
The beauty of all of our Flavor Bombs is they are versatile. Even though we have shared a variety of recipes using each one, you could swap out any Flavor Bomb for another giving you a wide variety options when it comes to quick, easy delicious home made dinners. The basics are meant to give you inspo and flexibility to use ingredient on hand, or those you know work best for your family. We would LOVE to see how you’re using Flavor Bombs. THE GRILL
Cooking on the grill is a sure fire way to produce tons of flavor and get a meal on the table quickly. You can prep ahead by marinating your meat and pre-cutting your veg, or do it all at once if you have the extra time.
We LOVE using Flavor Bombs to add flavor to any meat. Here is how we do it.
INGREDIENTS
- 1 Flavor Bomb
- 2 LBS of Animal Protein (chicken thighs, pork chops, hanger steak)
- Salt & Pepper as desired
- Combine Flavor Bomb and meat in a Ziplock bag and seal tightly.
- Marinate in the refrigerator for 30 minutes or up to 48 hours.
- Remove from the bag and grill or BBQ as desired. Remove and slice.
- Pour marinade into a saucepan and simmer on the stove for 25 minutes.
- Pour sauce over the cooked meat. Enjoy with a simple salad, baked potato or your favorite veg.
THE SLOW COOKER
Can you squeeze an extra 10 minutes out of your morning routine? If so then you could be walking in to a home cooked meal at the end of the day. The slow cooker is my jam. In the Winter, it's a warm bowl to brush off the chill. In the Summer, the crockpot is my secret to not turning on the stove. It really is perfect and one of the few small appliances I own.
Here is how I make easy meals with great flavor and minimal effort.
INGREDIENTS
- 1 Flavor Bomb of Choice
- 1-2 LBS Animal Protein (Chicken Thighs, Ground Meat etc.)
- 4-6 Cups Vegetables (broccoli, green beans, carrots etc.)
- 2-4 Cups Starch (potato, beans, squash)
INSTRUCTIONS
- Cut protein into 1" pieces if not ground.
- Cut vegetables and starches into 1" pieces about the same size as the meat.
- In the slow cooker, combine meat, vegetables and protein with the Flavor Bomb.
- Cover and cook on low for 4 hours.
- Season with salt and pepper as needed and serve.
THE SOUP BASE
The next level. Soup is so delicious and there are many ways to make soup, build flavor and have something warm and yummy. My secret process makes soup fast, easy and you'll be surprised by the flavor and texture you end up with.
INGREDIENTS
- 1 Flavor Bomb of Choice
- 1-2 LBS Animal Protein (Chicken Thighs, Ground Meat etc.)
